This qualitative study explores the lived experiences of undergraduate student mothers at the University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (UBIDS) in Wa, Ghana. Using Bronfenbrenner's Process-Person-Context-Time (PPCT) model as a theoretical framework, the study examines how these women navigate the dual roles of motherhood and academic work. Through semi-structured in-depth interviews with 15 student mothers, data were analysed using Braun and Clarke's six-phase thematic analysis approach, supported by independent double-coding, member checking, and a reflexive journal to strengthen credibility and trustworthiness. The research reveals significant challenges including time management difficulties, role conflict, and inadequate institutional support, compounded by the unique demands of the university's Practical Training Programme (PTP). The findings also document the resilience and strategies these women employ to sustain their academic participation alongside the role of family and peer support. The study concludes with practical recommendations for creating mother-friendly academic environments, including on-campus childcare facilities, flexible attendance and examination policies, and dedicated student parent support services.
