Healthcare workers’ performance is critical to the effective delivery of healthcare services, yet it is affected by poor ergonomics in the workplace. This study determined the influence of ergonomics on the performance of healthcare workers at Lodwar County Referral Hospital. A convergent mixed-methods research design was used to gather information from 265 healthcare workers, and a sample of 159 healthcare workers was selected using Yamane’s formula. Data were collected using both structured questionnaires and an interview guide. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics for the quantitative data and thematic analysis for the qualitative data. The results of the research indicated a strong positive and statistically significant relationship between ergonomics and healthcare workers’ performance (r = 0.682, p < 0.05). Furthermore, the regression analysis showed that ergonomics had a statistically significant influence on healthcare workers’ performance (β = 0.723, p < 0.001). Ergonomics accounted for 71.7% of the variation in healthcare workers’ performance (R² = 0.717). The study concluded that improving the ergonomics of the healthcare workplace would enhance healthcare workers’ performance. Therefore, the study recommended that hospital management should seek to improve the ergonomics of the workplace to enhance the healthcare services delivered to patients.
